Information About the 2026 Municipal Election
If you are eligible to vote in Waterloo Ward 3, here are the candidates running for regional, municipal and school board positions you can vote for.
(Elect 2; vote for up to 2)
The region deals with such issues as garbage collection, police services, and public transit. Read more on the Municipal Government Overview page.
Regional Councillors sit on regional council to provide extra representation for the cities. Kitchener has four regional councillors, and Cambridge and Waterloo each have two.
(Elect 1)
The mayor is the head of your local municipality (city or township) and sits on that council. The mayor also sits on Regional Council.
Local municipalities deal with issues such as public parks, fire departments, and building inspections. Read more on the Municipal Government Overview page.
Candidate profiles allow you to read responses from different candidates side by side. They allow you to compare candidates based on their backgrounds and experiences. Often they will not tell you how candidates would address specific issues.
